What is Skribit?
Skribit provides bloggers with the ability to receive real-time, user-generated suggestions directly from their readers via an easy-to-install blog application. Not only does Skribit help bloggers understand their readers, but Skribit also helps facilitate an interactive reader-writer blogging community.
Why Skribit?
It’s fun, easy to install, easy to manage, and helps provide valuable reader insight.
How does it work?
Bloggers install the Skribit application into their blogs in four easy steps. Once the application has been installed, your readers can either login to Skribit or anonymously submit questions and suggestions to you. They can even vote on their own suggestions encouraging you to write about what interests them most.
Do I have to write about any of the suggestions?
Nope. It's your blog. Skribit is just a tool to show you what the community around your site thinks you should talk about. In the end, it is completely your call.
I want to see a certain feature implemented. What should I do?
We are always interested in hearing what features Skribit users would like to have, so let us know by either contacting us or submitting feedback through Get Satisfaction.
How do I submit a suggestion?
If the blog you are visiting has the Skribit widget installed, simply click on it and you will be able to submit your suggestion. You can then track your submitted suggestions at skribit.com.
What blogging platforms do you support?
Just about all of them, and if you use TypePad, WordPress or Blogspot you can install the application via our step-by-step wizard which does not require any technical knowledge. If you are using another platform, you can easily grab the code for our application and incorporate it into your blog. If you experience any problems, just contact us and we'll help resolve the issue. The Skribit Widget is not currently supported on blogs hosted on WordPress.com. There is, however, a way to show your Skribit suggestions on your WP.com hosted blog.
What’s the story behind Skribit?
Skribit was created during Atlanta Startup Weekend, an experiment in entrepreneurship designed to conceive, develop and launch a fully functional company within 54 hours. A team of approximately 60 entrepreneurs consisting of developers, graphic designers, engineers, marketers and business folks launched Skribit to strengthen interaction between bloggers and their readers. The initial Skribit concept was created by Paul Stamatiou.
